These were men who defeated Pharaoh, crossed the Red Sea, ate Mana from heaven, drank water from the rock, survived serpent bite yet they die all in one day.

The question I asked is why? What killed them?

I was told that a man called Balak, sent the Moabite women into their camp. These are women, skilled in seduction. with open bodies, tweaking legs and waste, charming eyes and red coated lips and fingers they brought 24,000 men into their bed of harlotry.

A plague broke out among them.

... and Numbers 25:9 says, "And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand."
