In this month we shall be discussing a very important topic, The power of the Immovable Man – Part 1. Today we will be discussing:
Move to a Postion, and don’t Move
Let me start by making a confession. I love to watch football although I am not a fan beyond the best team and player.
My interest in football started in Liverpool’s miraculous comeback against AC Milan in the 2005 Champions league Final. At the end of the first half, Liverpool was down by three (3) goals. At the end of the second half Liverpool had won by 4-3. It was an electric spark of performance that affected my thinking of football.
Looking back at the game, it was clear how the teams determination and changes in players positioning introduced by the coach cut AC Milan’s defense line off guard.
The game of football is about skills and positioning. Life is about position. Some are in front, some are at the back. From the defense line to the striker’s line, in the air and on the ground, every player must:
1. Have a position;
2. Understand his position;
3. Protect his position; and
4. Create value for the team from his position
When a player fails to do any of these four (4) things effectively, he becomes useless to the team; he must be removed. That is life…Spiritually and physically.
You do have a Position
God is a God of position. In Exodus 3:14, God described himself to Moses as the “I am that I am; meaning I am immovable and unchangeable.
God placed the first man, Adam, in a position at creation. Genesis 2:8 says, “The Lord God planted a garden eastward of Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. So before God created Man, he first created a position for him, he called it garden of Eden.
Isaiah 66:1 says, “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?”
Position is Power
This scripture describes God’s position from heaven to earth. He sits on his throne in Heaven and places his feet on the earth. Who can move heaven from its position? Who can move the throne of God in heaven? Who can move His footstool; the earth? Nobody! They are immovable, because upon His position on the throne is His power thereof.
God is God because his position on the throne is immovable. Those who are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God.
The sons of an immovable God are immovable. A lion does not give birth to a goat. Never!
The earth may be shaking and the men of the world turn their back on the purpose of Manhood, but for the men of the Spirit, the Men of valour, we are not moved.
Small but Big
When you look into your nose you will see some tiny hairs. Why did God place those tiny hairs there? Tiny hairs, not seen, not noticed, not celebrated, but too important in their position. Without them, dust and fumes would have clogged your lungs.
Look at yourself, as tiny and small as you may look, insignificant in the corner of this world, you have a position that is too important to be ignored.
People may ignore you and insult you, but to someone under this earth and to your family, your position is too important for their life.
To God the creator of all mankind, your position is a fountain of Joy which heaven depends on.
In Job 1:8, God asked Satan, have you considered my servant Job that there is non like him. God was bragging about Job’s position on earth. His position was fueling heaven with joy.
When a man takes a position that defines purpose in the affairs of Men and God, His life becomes the fragrance that God and men breath.
When Prophet Samuel was weeping over Saul, God rebuked him saying, “…I have found a man in the house of Jesse who would become a king for my people.” That man was a little boy David, who was hiding in a corner of the bush tending his father’s sheep (1 Samuel 16:1).
Before God, a little boy who fights to stay in position is already a man. He is qualified to encounter the glory from the throne.
A man who runs from his position is a boy. He does not qualify to encounter the glory from the throne.
The power of the immovable men is the secret you must discover…
As we discuss this topic this month, there are four question you must answer.
1. Do you have a position in life?
2. Do you understand the value and power of your position?
3. Are your prepared and equipped to defend your position?
4. What value do you create from your position?
