DRUNKEN

👉Darkness in daylight – Where is my husband💘💘?
This story brought uncontrollable tears to my eyes. A young man called Mark, works with a Telecom company. He has just been five years on the job. He was doing so well that he became very popular and had many friends within and outside the office.

Three years into his new job, he got married to beautiful young lady, Stella, who is law graduate. Mark’s first child is now about 6month, a baby boy who he named Victor, after his own father. Everything looked perfect.
It was a typical Friday evening. As work closed, Mark was invited by one of his office colleagues to join him to an evening party. So, they went, each with his car.

The party host was celebrating his new car and provided assorted brand of drinks mostly alcoholic drinks. One bottle at a time, Mark and his friends went into drinking spree until about 2am, then it was time to go.
Seeing other friends drive off in their cars, Mark got behind the steering, started his car drove off. He never got home.

Stella kept vigil over the night. Severally she looked over the window for a sign of her husband’s car driving in, all to no avail. As the day broke, she was already fainting in worries. She has called several families members to ask and complain with tears and cry.

What happened to my husband? Where could he be? At about 7:00 am her phone rang. A strange voice was on the other side of the phone, the worst days started. The call no woman wants to receive, had come.
Mark is dead.
Under the heavy influence of alcohol, Mark lost control of his car. The car skidded out of the road, at about 2km from their house and plunged into the ditch. With no immediate help, he was already dead when his car discovered. Before noon, pictures of the car and Mark’s body has circulated the social media. It was true, Mark is dead.

Mark’s death was a devastating Tsunami. The young lady, Stella, suddenly has become a widow. Her pillar, her strength, her protection is gone in a flash. Her 6 months old son, Victor, became fatherless. Mark’s parents have lost a very promising son. The money they spent to train Mark is gone down the drain. His company has lost a brilliant staff. Mark’s destiny, hope, plans and aspiration has come to an end. The spirit of alcohol has taken everything away. Darkness has invaded the daylight.

Dear Man of Valour,
The spirit of alcohol is the spirit of the grave. While the surface looks flat, under it is a deep grave. It is like a cobra snake living gently under your pillow. You can see its tail, but it looks like a feather, harmless. Suddenly, at the most ungauded hour, it will strike hard with its deadly poison.
The spirit of alcohol is a manipulative spirit. It blocks the ears to the spirit of a man. It gives the man excuses why it should remain in him. When it speaks, it sounds justified. That is why when some men who drink speak, you hear them say, ‘I can control it, I know my limit’. So they start with one bottle and graduate into the last bottle of death. That is the manipulative voice of the spirit of alcohol.

The spirit of alcohol is a spirit of control. It takes control from the spirit of the man, and hands him over to the sword of death on the altar of his enemy. When the man losses control of his own spirit, abomination is born, and eternal spiritual judgement is released.

Many mighty men have gone down the pit of death by the single power of the spirit of alcohol. Destinies has been destroyed by it. Cities has been overrun by the decisions of the drunk men.
The life of many families has been shattered by the devastation of the spirit of alcoholic. Health lost. Peace gone. Trust broken. Money wasted. Respect destroyed. Jobs lost. Incense committed. Generation cursed.

It did not start today. Lot impregnated his two daughters after being drunk, Genesis 19:32-35. Noah caused his son, Ham, after he got drunk and lay naked, to his view and mockery, Genesis 9.
What has alcohol not done? No wonder the bible repeatedly warns us of the danger of alcohol (intoxicating wine).
In Proverbs 31:6, ‘Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to those who are bitter of heart.’
In Isaiah 5:11, ‘Woe to those who rise early in the morning, That they may follow intoxicating drink; Who continue until night, till wine inflames them’!
In Isaiah 5:22, ‘Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink.’
In Ephesians 5:18, ‘And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.’

Dear Man of Valour, my friend and my brother, take this word to heart. The spirit of alcohol is an enemy to your dreams. Drop that bottle and fight to escape. Fight to escape its devastating grips. If you are in the habit of drinking, as it comes, STOP. Stay away from it. When you are invited to take a sip, tell them, ‘NO THANK YOU.’ Draw a battle line. Just say, ‘NO’.
Resist the spirit of alcohol to the last drop of your blood. Flee its appearance. Reject it’s invitation. Do not touch, buy or ask someone to buy.
Do not abandon your family at the middle of the road. You are the only pillar they have. It is a battle for your life. Fight to live.
Above all, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you now overcome the spirit of alcohol.
